For the past several months I have noticed that more and more people are posting pictures and videos of their craft/scrap/sewing spaces.
So I decided to share mine as my very first post.
When we first moved into this house my craft room was on the second floor in a room that was circular (totally cute - just kinda small). This was my very first completely-dedicated-to-nothing-but-crafts-room. I was really excited. As I started to unpack all of my crafty goodness, I realized that I did not have enough room for it all . Despite that, I stayed up there for a few months.
For whatever reason, I was not too terribly inspired to do much of anything in that space. During this time the bedroom on the first floor (which was much bigger and had lots of nice windows) was basically sitting empty. I pondered moving into this room for a long time and finally decided it was time to take the plunge. RonChops helped me pack all of my things so that I could make the big move into this much bigger and brighter room downstairs.
It was MUCH better. I had tons more room, a huge closet and space for everything (as long as I was super organized)...and I hang out in here all the time now.
Since I have so many hobbies (paper crafts, pottery, sewing, jewelry making....the list goes on) I try to group the supplies for each into their own special space. This allows me to easily switch from craft to craft without having to hunt things down. I really enjoy organizing everything (that might even be considered one of my hobbies too). If I had an unlimited budget I would have some seriously cool organization furniture (I drool over all those paper trays and cabinets the scrap-booking and card making folks have). To see those papers, embellies and paints organized by color.. well it just makes me real happy. Maybe someday I'll get there, but for now my mismatch of shelves, tables, baskets and bins will have to do.
Let me know what you think. I'll post more pics later.
