Yodel-Leigh-Hee-Hoot! It's time for another giveaway! I decided that I needed to spice up this old lame jewelry-all-the-time-giveaway and throw more junk into the mix. Jewelry is getting soooo last year.
But firstly... I must announce the winner from the last giveaway and divulge the top secret way in which we came up with the winning number!
RonChops and I decided that we **needed** a new winner picking methodology (we have gotta keep things exciting around here or everyone is going to fall asleep reading all the endless nonsense that seems to spew forth from me in great gigantic waves of wordiness (like that for instance)).. so we decided to enlist the help of DogChops. She's a non-biased type who likes to help out around the house (she's really good at shedding and throwing up on the carpet, so if you ever need any of that let me know....I will let you borrow her for a few hours).
The Chops Methodology for Random Number Picking (CMRNP) started simply enough...we got out a package of bacon and cooked it up. About 14 seconds and 3 overly excited dogs later we decided to scrap the bacon picking system and try something else (the system involved lining up 48 little pieces of cooked bacon and numbering them all. Whichever piece DogChops went for first would be the winner). Ah...don't ever try that ok. It was pretty intense. I almost lost a finger and I am pretty sure RonChops will have a bruise on his left calf from almost being knocked over. Did you know that it takes 3 dogs less than 15 seconds to eat 48 pieces of bacon? Betcha never knew that huh?!
I decided to throw in a gratuitous shot of DogChops doing her infamous sitting up trick instead and just use the random number generator. Sew... this weeks winner can be seen HERE and what she won can be seen HERE. I'll be in touch winner!
On to the giveaway (we must forge ahead right)! Since Penny from Sew Take a Hike won last week AND her favorite color is green.. per the rules (which I seem to make up at random) I had to make something green this week.
So here we have it. The Long Green Necklace. It contains no bacon, no dog slobber and no preservatives. Just jade, sterling silver, rhyolite, onyx and glass. Simple enough right! It's another really long necklace (I don't know what it is with me and long necklaces) and it has a KILLER clasp. By far one of my favs!
I also want to throw in one of my Wendy Birds (your choice of color) AND some tards (your choice of pattern - it can be owls with your initials, holiday tags or tards or really whatever your heart desires). It's kinda like shopping with ole LollyChops! You can see the Tards HERE and the birds HERE. I promise I am trying not to make this too complicated. Once you have won you can tell me which Wendy you want and which tards you want me to make for you and viola. They are yours.
So here we go. All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment (just one please) telling me your favorite season and little bit about why it's your fav. It's that easy (honest). Do this by next Thursday night 10/30/08 10CST PM. I'll use ye ole random.org integer generator OR RonChops OR some new bacon-free methodology to pick a winner from batch (the winner will be announced the next day). I cannot afford to ship overseas but I can swing Canada (sorry friends from the other side of the pond)...
Thanks for playing along with me!
P.S. In case you have not seen them... there are Wendy's popping up in the Wendy the Bird Flickr group! You can go check them out HERE! Keep on sewing people!!!
P.S.S.T... someone asked in the comments where I got the beads and findings to make this necklace and I am happy to let you know that I got them at my local bead store (The Artful Bead). If you are even remotely close to the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX - you really ::should:: go check out one of their stores! They have a great selection and are the nicest people ever!
The winner of this giveaway was Theresa from Iowa Country Blog and she said:
"Oh my goodness - as always, you totally crack me up! Thanks for the laugh! I don't have a favorite season. I'm always ready for the next one when it comes. But I guess if I have to choose one, it would be spring. It's so full of hope and promise after a long winter."
Theresa has opted for a Red Wendy and "T" Owl Tards!
