I MUST brag on a gift I received in the mail before I get started with my little post today. The Ever-So-Sweet Ms. Penny from Sew Take a Hike (winner of the bracelet from last week) sent me a FABULOUS handmade thank you pillow! She basically pulled a fast one on me. She was so excited to win the bracelet she insisted that she send me something in return (I tried to resist but she's a bully and forced me into it). Sew...I have never been so touched (well maybe just a little in the head sometimes)! I got it Wednesday evening and it's simply wonderful!
She made it in my TWO favorite colors (orange AND green). So are you green with envy.. or perhaps just plain orange with glee like me? THANKS A BUNCH PENNY!!!!!
I have been promising to show you how I hang my gifts in a jar tags (for ages it seems). So here we go (finally!).
First you start with a tag (shocking AND surprising I know). Punch a hole through the top portion of the tag.
Take a piece of ribbon about 5 inches long. Make a little loop like I have pictured here and lay both ends together flat. Thread those ends together through the back side of the hole in the tag (the ends of the ribbon will come through the front and lay flat (but not so much if you have really thick ribbon). Leave your loop sticking out.
Pull those two ends until they form a little wrapping over the top of the tag (again like in the picture).
At this point you can simply use this as a tag with a ribbon.. but the next part is specifically for metal seal jars (like kerr and ball jars).
All you have to do at this point is take that little piece of ribbon and thread it through the hole so that the extra ribbon is sticking out the back. You can kinda adjust it (again like a tie) to get it to lay flat. Sometimes I stick a little glue dot on the very bottom back side of the tag just to ensure that it stays put.
You can place two tags together too...so the front can be one of the decorated tags and the back can be the recipe.
So speaking of recipe tags.. here they are.

Happy Thursday (wow where has the week gone!!!)
P.S. It's not too late to enter this week's giveaway!
P.S.S. I'll get these tags fixed so they match with the punch this weekend for sure! I swears!
