Firstly I would like to show-off a little something I won from Old School Acres. These two lovelies arrived in the mail yesterday. A little fella named Sparrow Mail Carrier brought them by (he's such a cutie).
I have named the short pink and green one Ms. Owly Fabulous Pants and the little red missy hovering above her Ms. Teal Belly. They came ever-so-fantastically from the ubber talented Laurie. I simply love them! Thanks Laurie! They are currently situated in my craft room nestled snugly between Man Carrying a Pig (I am going to have to share him someday) and about 14 Wendy the Birds.
So now let's talk some turkey folks (and for the veggies reading this - let's talk Tofurkey). I decided to try my hand a place tards (since they are a cross between place cards and tags, and cards.. does that actually make them plards...hmmmm)? Let's not complicate things anymore than I already have.
I went for leaves, corn, pumpkins and of course birds (can you ever really have too many birds???). I am thinking birds are a year round kind of thing. I wanted you to be able to write on them so I could not go for my usual darker colors.. but the lighter colors just seemed off so I darkened them and then lightened them and then darkened them again ..and yadda yadda yadda...and that basically went on and on for about 45 minutes. I printed lots and lots that are all just a little off. Fortunately it got to late to change them anymore so this is what we are stuck with.. for now.
You can download this batch of tards --> HERE <--
I am really thinking circles are not a good idea for place cards (I have another plan.. bear with me ok). So these might be better as true tards instead of plards. You could use these as little tags for fall packages. Or little cards to give to your child's teacher right before Thanksgiving break. Or as little tags you use in your fall craft sales (that's not a bad idea actually).
Alright.. I caved... I present to you.. Man Carrying a Pig (now officially re-named to FarmerChops carrying PorkChops - thanks mom and Kelly! - I actually LOLd when I read those comments). He's the coolest guy on the block (next to RonChops of course). I got him at a thrift store for $1.95. By far one of the best purchases ever made (don't you think)!
So back to the tards. I don't have time to break them up into one set per page, so I'll do that tonight (you might want a matching set (that's totally boring I know)...but it could happen right)?
I took pics but I have not had time to tell you guys.. the new lens that I just HAD to get totally stinks a big fat turkey. I am going to get my old cheap-o peep-o lens fixed and get back to basics (that's why my pics have been smelling so bad lately..). I took pics of completed stuff.. honest. But they all smelled so bad I had to take them out..
Oh yeah! Some of you were close on the guesses about what those brown blobs were yesterday. They are actually the ingredients for Chocolate Cobbler (mmmmmmm chocolate AND cobbler all in one dish). I am working on a little template (that's trying to do me in) so you can make these little yummies up yourselves. I'll have them soon.. I swears!
Hope you guys are having a fantastic week so far! Thanks for all the comments and personal emails. I love and cherish each and every single solitary one of them!
Coming up this Sunday I am going to present the first ever LollyChops Squash-Off! I'll share more tomorrow.
Laters gaters!
