Jello puddin' everyone! As you probably know... I was totally and completely
taken with the little thank you Lolly Bird card Becky made and sent to me earlier this
week. I could think of nothing but that since I saw it (I get obsessed rather easily so don't be too shocked about this revelation)!
Soooo... I did a little plain-straight-stitch-embroidery-Wonder-Under-combo for today's little sharsey! ...and I gotta tell ya... if you have never tried any embroidery ever in your whole entire life and think you might want to get into it just a teensy weensy little bit... this is totally the project for you! Trust Lolly ok!? It's EASY as pie!
I started with the Some Trees pattern from yesterday and decided on teals, browns and oranges as my fabric colors.
I cut out the pattern on heavy card stock paper...
but honestly I think any paper would work...
This... is where I made my first mistake.
I brilliantly decided to make the paper larger than the fabric - figuring I would iron them all on at once.
ahem... the Wonder Under sticks to fabric right... so when I ironed it on to my fabric pieces...
wait for it... I ironed it on to my ironing board too.
soooo.. once I had yee ole fabulous Wonder Under peeled off my ironing board as best I could...
I traced my pattern onto the paper back of the Wonder Under...
...and that's when I made my second mistake. :)
I was on a roll folks. Seriously.
Remember the other day when I was trying to explain...
that I could not explain the whole reverse pattern thing...
...it's cause it totally baffles me.
Totally.
Notice how I reversed the tree top back with the tree top front.
I had to redo that back piece... and this time I did NOT iron it to my ironing board!
HOORAY!!!
So there it is...
I did a little straight stitch around the darker background color...
...and I think it turned out rather nice!
I actually skipped into the kitchen (no easy feat folks)...
...to show RonChops I was so excited about it!
Sew.... I got a little something special in the mail yesterday from Stacy of Cook Something Even if it's Wrong... she sent me some little crocheted flowers that I thought would be perfect for the Flower Stems and Leaves pattern from yesterday!
So I laid them over the stems I made the other day so you could see what I mean. She even made them the perfect sizes and colors! THANKS STACY!!!!
I bet if we ask her nicely... she might do a little tutorial for us on how to make these little fellas! They are so perfect as the tops to the stems - it's not even funny. So wadda say Stacy?????
Nextly...I have a little card share from Hester! It's a little something she made with the Lolly Bird. I personally think it's completely fantastic!
Ok ok ok! Here they are folks!
Sunshiny Day
AND
Day Three Tree
AND
Sew Tweet
Thanks all I got for today! I am thinking that we might need to do another Embroidery Week and SOON? What do you guys think???
Handsome Hank Hugs!
P.S. I halfta say it again.. I am soo sooo sorry I cannot reply to each and every one of your comments and emails! Embroidery week is kicking my beehive (but I love it so don't let my whining fool you ok)! xoxoxoxoxo!
