So the next day... our pots were dry and ready to be cleaned! I thought we made a mess the first day... the second day was just as bad but without all the water!
Cleaning the pots means trimming the excess clay off (fat pots are bad pots).
That tiny little pile of pottery excess grew by 10 fold from that one tiny pot by the time she was done cleaning it!
This is Pam cleaning a sink she made (she makes and sells these and they are killer!).
...and this is her putting the bottom hole in the sink. I love her form when she did this. She had to right over the center of it and press down really hard to get it through.
Once we were done cleaning out pots, Pam did some demonstrations on other pots.
Here she is shaping a teeny tiny little mouth.
...and here Pam is throwing the worlds smallest pot! This is called throwing off the hump.
These are the pots all cleaned and drying in the sunshine!
I had to throw in some more Isabel shots! Here she is hanging outside the studio door. She was always on the lookout for folks to come for a visit.
Here she is patrolling the studio space. She looks like one hot dog. She may have been sunning herself... but she will never tell her beauty secrets!
...and this shot is of her supervising a cleaning.
She was always on top of things.... watching to make sure none of us messed anything up
(she had her work cut out for her on my cleanings)
I hope you enjoyed learning more about my pottery class! You just have to endure one more day of torture... I swears!
P.S.S.T. I just found out that Holly Hanks was featured on Wednesday on the Prima blog (read all about it HERE) as their guest designer extraordinaire!... and... she mentioned LC's as a spot for inspiration! I just about sprung a leak when I found out! Does that happen to you guys when you get exciting news too????
