Hello friends! I just had one of those weekends where life (a.k.a. "the real job") took over and cut into craft time... so I don't have nearly as much fun stuff to show you today as I had hoped... BUT never fear... I'm still going ahead with sharing my crazy new idea anyway... it's just not as flushed out as I would have have liked (if you guys ever find that magic lamp... send the genie over this way... I just want one measley wish!!!)!
How it usually starts...
My more complex ideas usually start off with me approaching RonChops with something along the lines of "I had the BEST idea"... he usually immediately rolls his eyes, sighs a little bit and says "what am I going to have to build this time????"... he's pretty much almost always a good sport about my hairbrain ideas... BUT... he's currently busy making over 200 blending buddies for GASC (the Great American Scrapbook Convention) in a couple of weeks... so I was on my own this time... which means I had to bust out the power tools! YAY!!!
Once RonChops showed me the basic function of his bandsaw and drill press... I went to town with practice pieces! Within just a few minutes I was ready to get started (I'm pretty sure I was a woodworker in my former life...NOT)!
I dug deep into my brain and conjured up a fish shape...
...and low and behold...
Frannie The Vicious Fish was born!
(she's a little heavy in the bottom regions due to excessive bon bon eating)
(it has absolutely nothing to do with my extremely horrible drawing skillz)
Unfortunately for me... after a week of living on her own she became lonely...
...and dramatic...
(Frannie started acting like a trout... not even kidding)
(it wasn't pretty)
...she needed a boyfriend and fast...
So I whipped up Frank the Vicious Fish!
(he's the larger fella on the left and a perfect match for Frannie)
...within 14 seconds they were married...
Introducing Frank & Frannie Vicious!!!
**clap, clap, clap**
...about 15 minutes after they got married they started having kids...
(not just one kid either... triplets!!!)
(all different sizies even)
(with no epidural)
...poor Frannie...
Once things started to settle down in the Vicious Household...
I introduced them to crafts!!!!
Fern Vicious started off with something low key...
She went with a simple teal base with a checkered yellow surface...
...then...
Fredward Vicious wanted something a little more bold...
So he went with a teal base with a teal background and red polka dots.
(what can I say... a guy after my own heart)
I think he looks smashing!
Frodo Vicious longed for the Shire so he went with a more earthy (70s) look!
(the teal eyeball was my idea... not that you guys would have ever guessed that!!!)
Frank Vicious went all out with a multi layered / many small pieces look...
(I had absolutely nothing to do with punching or gluing 120 - 3/4 inch circles to his body)
(I swears)
...Frannie however...
Dear sweet having 3 kids within 14 seconds of getting married without an epidural Frannie...
...wanted to get a little fancy...
hmmmm
...we weren't sure about this look...
...but before she could change her mind...
...she got prego again...
(that Frank is a smooth operator)
.The End.
(for now)
I thought there might be a slight chance you would want to see my mad woodworking skillz in action...
So RonChops put this short little video together for me!!!
(the banjo music was my idea... he wanted me to make sure you guys knew that)
The Making of The Vicious Fishes by Lolly Chops!
It's a wonder I still have all my fingers right!?!?!?
Once I was done with my Vicious Fishes...
RonChops decided he wanted to make one too!
(he said something about the fish needing fins and flippers and stuff)
hmmmm
That RonChops!
...he's such a showoff...
!!!
The regular plain Ole Vicious Fishes are slowly finding their way onto our brick wall in the living room.
Once Frank and Fannie have busted out a whole school of Vicious Fishes...
I'll be sharing pictures of the finished project!
I should have that done in about 3 days at the rate they're going!
(HA!)
So that's all I have for today!
But wait... what about the Vicious Fishes Giveaway???
If you think you might want a set Vicious Fishes all for your very own special wall, just leave me a little comment (with some Vicious Fishes HUGS) for chance to win a set of unfinished Vicious Fishes! I'll announce the winner next Monday and in about a week or so I'll have them for sale in my Etsy shop too!
P.S. Thanks for all of your sweet comments and emails. You guys are simply the BEST!!! I loves the lot of yas!
