MomChops has mad drawing skillz and whipped up all 10 birds for me in nothing flat! Today I am going to share the details of how this Cardinal went together (most of the rest of them will go together much the same way)... think of them as little bird pillows!
These fellas are going to be perched on two telephone polls... oh and speaking of... I'm trying to round up some black bailing wire that I can use to make the telephone polls so if anyone has any good resources of where I can get some nice bailing wire without having to buy 90 feet... I'm all ears!!!!
Let's get started with the tutorial!
You can get it below!

Pin it to the material of your choice.
(I used wool blend felt)
(Oh and a great place to get felt is Joggles!)
I used a sequin that I found HERE to make the eye (the center is a little black size 11 seed bead).
This guy was giving me the eyeball the whole time I was working on him.
He's got major 'tude.
(I think he's Italian and possibly in the mafia... but I could be wrong)
He then told me to call him "Big Tony" from this day forward.
...or else face getting myself a pair of cement shoes...
He also mentioned that you guys should also refer to him as Big Tony.
Don't mess with Big Tony!!!
He means bidness.
(I use that word lightly as they were really more leaf shapes)
(don't tell Big Tony o'kay???)
(also don't mention that I called his body a "bod" either)
(he gets so full of himself and might start asking me out on dates)
(RonChops would get totally jealous)
So I traced about a 1/4 inch outside the wing shape...
The only reason Big Tony let me get away with the beads was because they kinda looked like meatballs.
Big Tony can't see his tail so we're all good there.
(I should have added in some flowers now that I think about it)
(that'll show him whose boss!!!)
I took the other cardinal shape I had cut out originally and whip stitched it Big Tony's bod.
I then lightly stuffed him with spaghetti!
(not really but that's what I had to tell Big T to get that one past him)
Still giving me the eyeball but that's ok.
We've made peace with each other and can now move on with our lives.
But wait... MomChops made her a Big Tony too!
Only we are gonna call him Big Sal or face the wrath of Big T!
(Big Sal evidently has a birds nest coming out of his tail)
(I would say that's odd but then again...)
(this is LollyChops.com... it's really not odd at all)
...and just cause this is completely cute and totally random...
I'm pretty sure they were headed to grandma's house!!!
.smell ya later.
P.S. If you decide to make up your very own Big Tony (or any of the birds I'll be sharing in the coming weeks)... just send me a pic and I'll post them all here with a link to your blog or Flickr or whatever floats your fritos.
P.S.S.T. Big thanks to my MomChops for helping me with the birdies. I loves ya momster.
